The Grammy-nominated rapper Akon is trending high in crypto ecosystem lately. The singer has announced the launch of his own cryptocurrency Akoin. The Senegalese performer revealed him about this new venture during Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France. He intends to make improvisation in the condition of African nations with the new age technology of blockchain.
According to Coin Telegraph, the cryptocurrency Akoin will be out in the market in the span of two weeks. Akon’s dream project is said to include Akon Crypto City which will be a 100% crypto-centric city. The entire idea is aimed to revolutionize their day-to-day business activities and exchanges. The Crypto City will be developed at a short drive from Dakar, capital of Senegal and also is homeland. It will be very close to the newly built international airport. The area will be done in a smart city design which is relatively new for a county like Senegal.
He stated that crypto and blockchain implementation in the African nation will prove to be a savior that intends to bring power and security to their current system. In addition to this, he added that cryptocurrency Akoin will permit the citizens to use them in advancing. However, when asked about technical stuff related to bblockchainhe postponed the queries to the experts.
Akon’s Presidential Aspirations
It is rumoured that Akon is preparing for his big political ambitions in the next US Elections. The alleged reports are presenting subtle hints of his grand debut. He is said to be gearing up for 2020 to face-off Donald Trump and singer Kanye West. West has also shares his aspirations on joining the political bandwagon for the upcoming battle.
Apart from his political ambitions, Akon has immense love for his homeland and he has been working for their overall development. He initiated a project in 2014 in the name of Akon Lighting Africa which is providing electricity in about 15 countries of the Asian continent.
