Like the famous sportsman Manny Pacquiao, Owen is also entering into a new venture to connect with his fans. The fans of Owen can use ‘Owen Coin’ to make charities donations and buy exclusive goods and services. They can also communicate with Owen (via live-streaming) using ‘Owen Coin’.

Michael Owen said, “Fans can be connected to their favourite celebrities in a much, much intimate level.”

He added, “When the price of bitcoin reached a new high last year, I knew it was a clear trajectory to cryptocurrency as a global phenomenon.”

Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. is a former professional boxer supporting initial coin offerings (ICOs).

Manny Pacquiao took an initiative to tokenize his popularity and joined hands with the crypto exchange GCOX. He is the first international celebrity who wished to launch his own cryptocurrency on GCOX. This was announced on March 7, 2018.

The CEO of GCOX Sir Dr. Jeffery Lin, “We believe that both celebrities and the public will benefit from the sound business fundamentals that GCOX can bring to the global crypto community. GCOX plans to increase the adoption and acceptance of blockchain technology and crypto tokens through the involvement of A-list celebrities. With new social interaction platforms built on GCOX’s own Acclaim blockchain, investors and fans will have unparalleled access to their favourite stars. Celebrities will also have the opportunity for increased engagement with their fans, further extending their reach and expanding their popularity,” the official website of GCOX reported.

GCOX wants to become the world’s first crypto exchange for celebrities. It is stated that listing various celebrities tokens would show their popularity, the Punchg reported.
