Gopal Agrawal Moves To DSP Blackrock Mutual Fund From Tata MF

DSP Blackrock Mutual Fund has appointed Gopal Agrawal, former Chief Investment Officer (Equities) at Tata Asset Management Company, as Senior Fund Manager and Head of Macro Strategy, on July 23, 2018. The fund house confirmed the news in a statement released.

Agrawal will be part of the DSP Blackrock MF’s equity investments team in Mumbai.

Agrawal comes with valuable experience and knowledge in the successful management of various mandates, said Kalpen Parekh, President of DSP BlackRock MF, when welcoming him to the fund house.

He is also skillful in “connecting macro trends to companies and portfolio construction,” added Parekh.

Vinit Sambre, Head of Equities, DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund, was pleased to welcome Agrawal to their highly passionate team of DSP BlackRock’s people with a diverse range of skills related to investment platform, reported The Economic Times.

While joining the fund house, Agrawal said that he is delighted to be a part of the “growing energy and momentum” at the DSP BlackRock MF. He also added that is looking forward to “build an exciting career ahead” by being a part of the “rich and well-rounded equity fund management team.”

Agrawal previously worked as the Chief Investment Officer (Equities) at Tata AMC since April 2017. At Tata MF, he led the fund management as well as equity research team and was also responsible for managing and co-managing many equity funds. After thirteen months of service, Agrawal resigned from Tata MF in May 2018, according to Business Standard

Agrawal worked as an overall CIO and Strategist at Mirae Asset Mutual Fund for nearly a decade. Prior to that, he was working as a fund manager (marquee funds) at SBI Mutual Fund.

Agrawal has 20 years of wide experience in various sectors, such as Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas, Capital Goods, Metals, Power, Engineering, Chemicals & Fertilizers, and Shipping.

The present Senior Fund Manager and Head of Macro Strategy at DSP Blackrock Mutual Fund have completed B.E (Chemical) from Govt. Engineering College (NIT) Raipur, and MBA from VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur.
