The latest addition to this hiring spree is Alexander Geralis, who has been appointed as the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Spotware’s cXchange. He will be looking into the development of the cXchange product and help to market the same on the international platform.
Following this ongoing trend of hiring industry experts, cXchange will be tapping Geralis’ wide experience in trading physical commodities and digital currencies. Recently, cryptocurrency exchange, Binance hired Wei Zhou as its Chief Financial Officer. The crypto industry is speculating that the main reason behind hiring Zhou seems to be his wide experience in initial public offerings (IPOs) and that Binance is preparing for an IPO. Changpeng Zhao, the exchange’s CEO, however, denied the plans of an IPO. He stated in his tweet that Binance is always on the lookout for top talent from finance or any industry and from anywhere in the world, as reported on CCN.
This was not the first time that a crypto firm had hired an executive with experience pertaining to the traditional finance sector. Coinbase also hired some time back Jeff Horowitz to lead the exchange’s global compliance efforts. Jeff was an alumnus of Bank of New York Mellon and also held the position of global head of compliance and managing director of Pershing.
